Missouri E-Waste Laws

Missouri’s e-waste law, passed in 2008, requires manufacturers of certain consumer electronics to register with the state and implement free recycling programs for consumers. The law focuses primarily on manufacturers of televisions and computers. Although Missouri does not ban electronics from landfills, it strongly encourages recycling by requiring manufacturers to offer convenient recovery opportunities for residents. The program is administered by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
