Connecticut E-Waste Laws

Connecticut logo

Connecticut enacted one of the nation’s strongest electronics recycling laws in 2007. The program is built around producer responsibility: manufacturers must finance the transportation and recycling of covered devices. Residents can recycle their electronics for free through municipal drop-off centers, which are mandatory in every town. Connecticut also prohibits the disposal of electronics in trash or landfills, making recycling the only legal path for covered items.
